Attention ER's, Secretaries and Treasurers of the Lodges of the OEA

The policy of this committee is to allow ONLY a ten (10) day grace period on calendar winners from the date listed on the transmittal form. For example if you sold a calendar on February 10 and that number was a winner on January 10 you will not be a winner. If that number is drawn by the Ohio Lottery on February 18 you will be a winner. If a calendar was sold on February 10, was a winner on February 11 but the lodge doesn't mail the transmittal form to the OEA until March that person will not be a winner.

The bottom line is this. We have had FAR TOO MANY calendars sent into the state office that were sold way more than 10 days ago. Some of these have been sold in October. The mantra of "I don't want to write a check every time one calendar comes in" has to stop. Please get in the habit of sending in your calendar transmittal forms as soon as you sell a calendar. That will make Nevin's life easier and we won't have to disappoint someone who had a winning number but their lodge didn't get it into the OEA office on time.

HERE IS HOW IT WORKS

When you make your donation you will receive an ELK BUCKEYE BUCKS CALENDAR with a four digit number that is issued to you alone, The number is printed on the registration card on the outside of the front cover. Next to the registration card is the office registration. PRINT your name, address and city on the office card. Submit the office card with your $20 donation to the person or establishment where you received the calendar.  This will be turned in and registered at the ELKS LODGE and you become a legal calendar holder eligible for all prizes. Write your number on your calendar for your reference.

Don't forget, your lodge makes $5 on every calendar sold!

You will notice that we have done something new this year. In addition to the traditional calendars, we have also included a card (the front cover of the calendar) only option.

Some people like to have an actual calendar to use. Other people don’t care about the calendar at all and are just interested in winning money. The card is a perfect option for that person.  Your lodge should have both options available. Try to push the card option, as they are much cheaper to print. But, if someone wants an actual calendar, we can give them that as well.

Both the card option and the calendar option are $20 each.
